20 DEFINITIONS YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT (part 1)

Words convey meaning. If you are like me, when I come across a word and do not understand its meaning, I reach for the dictionary. But here I am attempting to share with you thoughts from different people, myself included, on the meaning of some words. Please think about them because the definitions you’re about to read are not in your everyday dictionary. May you be blessed!

THE BATTLE OF POSTERITY

The pursuit of destiny is real warfare. And a council of hell is sitting right now to make sure you lose the battle. But you will win!

Don’t trade away your birthright. Don’t cheapen your destiny. “Sell me this day your birthright” (Genesis 25:31) is the demand of the battle of posterity. It is a conflict of choices. A test of the strength of your will:

Today versus Tomorrow
Now versus Later
The Present versus the Future
The Urgent versus the Important
The Immediate versus the Ultimate
The Temporal versus the Lasting.

“Sell me this day your birthright!”

Your destiny might not have matured but I challenge you, don’t sell it! Do not trade away your future on the altar of present enjoyment.

Esau had to choose between his hunger and his heritage.
Samson – between Delilah and delivering the Hebrews.
Moses – between Egypt’s treasures and Christ’s reproach.
Joseph – between Potiphar’s wife and a prominent place in Egypt.
Their eventual decisions tilted the battle in their favor or disfavor.

The battle of posterity is a war between TODAY and TOMORROW; between the PRESENT and the FUTURE. When losers fight it, they sacrifice the NOW on the altar of the LATER. They choose the TEMPORAL instead of the LASTING. They respond to the URGENT in the face of the IMPORTANT. They mistake enjoying the IMMEDIATE for the apprehension of the ULTIMATE.

Esau abandoned his birthright for a mess of pottage. Samson wasted his destiny on the laps of harlotry! You will not lose out!

The battle is in your choices. Anything that sacrifices your future on the platform of the now is against your ultimate good. Fight it!

Today is the most important day of your life. Your choice today decides your destiny tomorrow. Today is the cash deposit which you withdraw in tomorrow’s bank account.

There is a future for you. Don’t use today to deny yourself of tomorrow. Esau lost out in the battle of posterity. Will you too?

THOUGHTS TO CHEW ON

If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavours to live life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.
– Henry David Thoreau

ASK YOUR WAY TO BREAKTHROUGH!

Welcome to the month of March 2012. This month I see you marching forward in the Name of Jesus! By God you will run through troops, by my God you will leap over walls (Psalm 18:29), in Jesus name!

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened …. How much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7:7, 8, 11)

The Bible teaches here the principle of ‘asking’. (It’s funny how we think this scripture applies only to praying. But the Word says, ‘ask’, not ‘pray’.) Ask and you shall be given. It’s an eternal law, “He that asketh receiveth!” Ask and keep on asking. If you ask, it’s quite possible that you will get someone who God will use to give you what you desire.

Ask your way to breakthrough.

Go to someone you believe can help you today; make that call to someone you believe can assist you, and ask the person to help you out. Do not hesitate to ask.

Take a step in the direction of your expectation. Remember the connection between you and your ‘breakthrough’ may be that you should ‘ask’. YOU WILL SUCCEED!

YOU WILL GET THERE! (Part 6)

Here we are at last! The last post in this series.

Change Your Confession

You not only need to change your inner picture to so get there from here, you need to do one more thing: The words of your mouth have to line up with what you believe God for in your heart.

WHAT ARE YOU SPEAKING? You can’t talk unbelief and get faith results.

Ezekiel had to prophesy as he was commanded (Ezekiel 37:10). You are the prophet of your own life. You must keep speaking what you believe. Every man would eat ‘good’ by the fruit of his mouth (Proverbs 13:2). So keep speaking good things about your dream seed.

God created His own world by His Words. So it is with you. Create your world by your words. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God.” (Hebrews 11:3) Prophesy your future into manifestation. You have sown seeds of labour, money etc. into your dream project. Now water those seeds by speaking positive words of faith over them. Call it forth. Speak ‘there’ into being. “Calling forth those things that be not as though they existed.”

Don’t you mind detractors. They will mock your ‘seeing’ and will despise your ‘talking’, but in a matter of time you will so get there from here! And you shall have the last laugh. Amen!

You will surely hear a noise and a shaking (like Ezekiel did in verse 7.) Heaven is cooking up a miracle for you. Faith does not bow to facts because faith is superior to facts. YOU WILL SO GET THERE FROM HERE!

YOU WILL SUCCEED!

YOU WILL GET THERE! (Part 3)

There are seven things I want to suggest you can possibly do to your mountains:

1. Cast It Into The Sea.
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” (Mark 11:23)

Remove your mountain completely, if it can be done. If it’s a financial debacle, can a gift or a loan remove it? Raise the money. Plus, you can move mountains (of whatever kind) by the power of faith through prayer, and fasting if need be.

2. Level It Into A Plain
“Who art thou, O great mountain? Before Zerubabbel thou shalt become a plain…” (Zechariah 4:7) For “every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight and the rough places plain.” (Isaiah 40:4)

You can reduce the effect your predicament has on you. Choose to be better not bitter, allowing your mountain to make not mar you. For instance, positive association can minimize the negative affect (limitation) of lack of education. He that walks with wise men shall be wise. (Proverbs 13:20)

3. Find A Way Up Your Mountain
You can climb over your mountain. It may be tortuous or arduous but it is possible.

4. Find A Way Around It
There is a way your mountain could be bypassed or avoided. It may be longer but it sure is a solution.

5. Burrow A Tunnel Through It!
The way out is going through! Endure it till you come out triumphantly. Don’t back off your dream because of a supposed mountain. DON’T SURRENDER LEADERSHIP TO YOUR MOUNTAIN. The shoe doesn’t tell the foot how big it should grow! You are tougher than your tough times.

6. Stay Put and Dig It Into A Mine!
If you will explore it, I believe there is a possibility hidden away in your problem. There is a message in your mess! You can market your disadvantages. If it’s a disability, discover the ABILITY in it.

That’s what Helen Keller did. Though blind, deaf and dumb from 19 months old, she yet impacted her generation. There are albinos who despite negative societal perceptions became successful in their different chosen careers? And there are dwarves who that’s their unique advantage in the film industry. You can mine your problems. And if all these fails,

7. Fence Your Mountain and Turn It Into A Tourist Attraction
You might make money from it. When life throws you a lemon, make lemonade out of it.

YOU WILL GET THERE! (Part 2)

Let me continue from where I stopped yesterday. (If you want to read the earlier post in this series, check here.)

Are You Faced With A Mountain?

Let me admit that facing a mountain or whatever looks like one is never a funny experience. But I’m yet to see a mountain that grows bigger in size except your view of it. Your mountain can’t grow bigger but you can! I challenge you today, therefore, to outgrow your problems. You are tougher than your tough times, so hold your ground.

Face up to your mountain.

Don’t give in to INTIMIDATION. Say to yourself, ‘I am more than this’. ‘With God on my side I can handle this.’

ESCAPE is no solution. Don’t play the ostrich. Wishing the problem away will not make it go away. Alcoholism is only a temporary escape from a permanent problem. And suicide won’t help you, because it is a permanent solution to a temporary predicament. Pain passes. Mountains do shift. Barriers do become bridges. But it’s only one who is tougher than his/her tough times that lives to tell the story.

RESIGNATION is neither the answer. Fate is a cemetery of great dreams stalled by despair and hopelessness. Don’t give up on God for He isn’t quitting on you. Don’t resign to fate. Things can be better than they are and they will surely be. I say to you in the name of Jesus, YOU WILL GET THERE!
