WHEN THE ANIMALS WENT TO SCHOOL!
As you head into a new working week, this is my admonition: Stay in your strength zone! Concentrate on your strong points. Stick with what flows naturally out of you. People who have found their God-given destiny are doing what is natural to them. If the shoe fits, wear it, and stop looking for your destiny in the wrong places! You cannot function well in a place you aren’t made for. Your personality unravels your purpose. Let me share with you a fable called, “The Animal School”.
Once upon a time, the animals decided to do something heroic to meet the challenges of a ‘New World’, so they organised a school.
The adopted activity curriculum included Running, Climbing, Swimming and Flying. And all the animals took all the subjects so as to make it easier to administer.
The Duck was excellent in Swimming, in actual fact better than her instructor; and made good grades in Flying but she got an outright F in Running! Because of this poor result in Running, she dropped Swimming and stayed back after school to practice Running. Soon, she became average in Swimming because her web feet have been badly worn. Nobody, except the duck of course, worried about her now average performance in Swimming, it was quite okay!
The Rabbit started at the top of the class in Running but soon developed a muscle twitch in the leg because of make-up work in Swimming. Actually, it was a miracle he didn’t drown!
The Squirrel was excellent in Climbing, but was constantly frustrated in Flying class because his teacher made him start from the ground up instead of from the treetop down. He soon suffered from over-exertion and as a result ended up with a C in Climbing and a D in Running!
The Eagle was a problem child and was frequently reprimanded for her non-conformist tendencies. In Climbing class she beat all others to the top of the tree, using her own way to get there!
At the end of the school year, an abnormal Eel that could swim exceedingly well and also could run, climb and fly a little had the highest average and was valedictorian.
The Prairie dogs stayed out of school and fought the tax levy because the administration would not add Digging and Burrowing to the curriculum. They apprenticed their children to the Badger and later joined the Groundhogs and Gophers to start a successful private school!
The wisdom of this story is; YOU CANNOT FUNCTION WELL IN A PLACE YOU WEREN’T MADE FOR. The best you can be that way is average. You never fulfil destiny by wrapping your life around your weak points. Your destiny is in your areas of strength. YOU WILL SUCCEED!
