JUST A SIMPLE THOUGHT ABOUT MONEY

“And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land and he began to be in want.” (Luke 15:13-14)

This is what I call the WISDOM OF ECONOMY: Stop spending all! Money spent cannot be saved. And money not saved can’t be utilized. Confucius, the Chinese sage said: “He who will not economize will agonize!” Spendthrifts don’t shine, only wise investors rule in life.

I am not advocating being ‘penny wise and pound foolish’, neither am I suggesting penny-pinching as a way to financial success. I don’t even believe in it. But I believe in the wisdom of economy.

We need to curtail waste in our personal finances. Jesus said, after the miraculous feeding of the five thousand, “Gather the fragments, that nothing might be wasted.” (See John 6:12) I believe and know that for a fact from my own personal and family finances: IF WE WASTE NOT, WE WILL NOT WANT; our riches are hidden in our fragments. You will succeed!
