IMPROVE YOUR TALENT!

Today I want to draw your attention again to your gifts and talents. And this is the simple thing I have to say:

Improve your talent. Nobody pays you for raw talent, it is your skills (refined and improved talents) that you are paid for. “Observe people who are good at their work – skilled workers are always in demand and and admired; they don’t take a back seat to anyone.” (Proverbs 22:29 The Message)

Dewayne King said, “You cannot win without talent, but talent won’t win without discipline.” That discipline is of paying the price required to develop, fine-tune and improve your skills. Take the time, effort and discipline required to develop your gift into world-class status. It may be hard but it will pay off.

The room for improvement is the greatest room in the world. If you keep improving your unique gifting, the world will soon pay you for your expertise. YOU WILL SUCCEED!

YOU HAVE TO LEARN ‘PATIENCE’!

We must all learn to imbibe the virtue of PATIENCE. It will serve you well in life.

“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” (Hebrews 10:36 KJV)

“The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” (Ecclesiastes 7:8b) The saying is true; the patient dog eats the fattest bone! Not only that, a Chinese proverb adds, “If you are patient in a moment of anger, you escape a hundred days of sorrow.”

“And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:11-12)

Patience is not passive. It is an active force that can turn situations around in your favor. Hold in faith until God’s Word comes to pass in your life. YOU WILL SUCCEED!

JUST A SIMPLE THOUGHT ABOUT MONEY

“And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land and he began to be in want.” (Luke 15:13-14)

This is what I call the WISDOM OF ECONOMY: Stop spending all! Money spent cannot be saved. And money not saved can’t be utilized. Confucius, the Chinese sage said: “He who will not economize will agonize!” Spendthrifts don’t shine, only wise investors rule in life.

I am not advocating being ‘penny wise and pound foolish’, neither am I suggesting penny-pinching as a way to financial success. I don’t even believe in it. But I believe in the wisdom of economy.

We need to curtail waste in our personal finances. Jesus said, after the miraculous feeding of the five thousand, “Gather the fragments, that nothing might be wasted.” (See John 6:12) I believe and know that for a fact from my own personal and family finances: IF WE WASTE NOT, WE WILL NOT WANT; our riches are hidden in our fragments. You will succeed!

DO YOUR WORK!

“Go to work in the morning and stick to it until evening without watching the clock…” (Ecclesiastes 11:6 The Message)

The call to excellence is for a few good men, individuals who like Arthur Morley said “do whatever they can do to the best of their ability, and do it to the very end.” Therefore, “whatever your hands find to do, do it with your might…” (Ecclesiastes 9:10)

Do your duty today. Work for the gold in your job and soon you will find gold. It is your God-given obligation.

Good morning and have a blessed work week. YOU WILL SUCCEED!
